God’s Yes
In Matthew’s Gospel the resurrection story is dramatic with earthquakes and eye-popping angels. Women hear the announcement that Jesus is alive and will meet his followers in Galilee, they are to report the news. God’s story has always been about turning the world upside down to save God’s people, and Jesus has always claimed the connection between the ancient stories of God’s power to save and his own work in the world. Jesus’ resurrection is God’s YES to all our hopes and longings about our own life in the world and our home with God forever.
