I grew up in Plano, Texas. I was baptized and raised in an ELCA congregation in Dallas, Texas. As a child I fell in love with our rituals and memorized all the parts of the liturgy. My faith in God and living in community with God’s people has always been important to me. My experience being excluded from the church because I am both hard of hearing and gay has called me to lead others to try to live into the inclusivity of the Kingdom of God. I know what it is like to be excluded from the church which is why I am passionate about God’s expansive, inclusive love. I got my Master’s of Divinity from Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Outside of the church you can find me hiking, walking in a park, or relaxing in the grass. I am an amateur crocheter and I love to learn new skills. I have a cat named Marshmallow. As long as he has a pillow to sleep on, he is ready for any type of adventure.
