March 4, Week II
These are the verses DC’s study will address this week. You may use them to meditate with the rest of the church on what they mean to you, and join us in prayer.
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts….and whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:15, 17
“I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called with all humility and gentleness, and with patience, bearing with one another in love…” Ephesians 4: 1-2
Questions for meditation this week:
How does the peace of Christ work? How does it affect how we see the world and each other?
What does it mean to do something in the name of Jesus?
Do you have an experience of that you could talk about?
What does it mean to be ‘called’ as one of God’s people? How do you respond to that call?
What difference does it make if you act with humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with each other in love? Does that change how you do things?
Prayer for the week:
Christ, our peace, you have given us the privilege of being your people, and your hands and heart in the world today. Make us strong enough to be kind and gentle, humble and loving so that we can bring your ministry to those who need your love. Amen.
