Prineville Music Theater Camp – a fantastic continuation! This month, our young campers presented The Jungle Book, Disney’s adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling classic.
From our ace reviewer, Pat Cunningham:
Michelle and crew not only chose children perfect for their parts, but they all had multiple parts too! They knew the songs and their speaking parts but if someone hesitated at all, someone else would step up with a whispered “nudge” and the play went on smoothly without a hitch! The costumes were colorful and imaginative and many moms spent time making monkey ears and elephant trunks! The background “jungle” was sparkling and believable! There wasn’t a child there that wasn’t enjoyable to watch and listen to, the problem was trying to watch them all at once!
The youngest Cooper was the best “bee” I have ever seen! She was a cute, believable “bee” who knew exactly what to do, including holding the door open for the players to “buzz” them in for a costume change. She held the door open with one hand and gave them a little “push” inside with the other! (All of them being at least a head taller than her!)
There are not enough words to really describe this amazing musical (at least I don’t have them!). It was so “loaded’ with personality and talent! It is more than just a performance, it is an “experience” you do not want to miss!! We thank Michelle for giving us a “Musical Theatre” summer we will never forget! We pray that God will Bless Michelle in any and all of her new ventures, as she has truly Blessed all of us!
Kudos again to the cast and crew. Thanks for filling the sanctuary at Our Savior’s with exuberance and music!
